Orthodontist Dr. Oral Francis began his career in a fast-paced corporate dental setting, gaining valuable insights but quickly realizing he wanted a more personal, patient-centered approach.
In 2007, he launched his first independent practice in Suwanee, Georgia. And by 2020, he made a full transition to Decatur, where he founded Decatur Orthodontics as a community-oriented practice that combines advanced orthodontics with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

With Decatur High School just across the street, his office has become a convenient and familiar place for families, students, and neighbors alike.
“I just enjoy being in the presence of my patients,” he says, reflecting on his approach to care. This sense of connection and trust has helped Decatur Orthodontics grow steadily through word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied patients.

Education, experience, and professional dedication
With nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Oral Francis brings a wealth of expertise to Decatur Orthodontics. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of South Florida and earned his DDS degree from Meharry Medical College, graduating in the top five percent of his class. Following this, he pursued two years of specialized orthodontic training at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he further honed his skills in alignment and bite correction.
Dr. Francis is a board-certified orthodontist—a distinction achieved by a small percentage of orthodontists in the U.S. He is also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the International Dental Honor Society, and he actively participates in continuing education to stay at the forefront of orthodontic advancements.
